Serums and a Phone Case!

First of all, if you’re over the age of 18 and not using a facial serum, you need to change that immediately.   Seriously.  Prevention is everything – and I really wish that I would have started taking better care of my skin when I was a lot younger.  Now, I’m having to battle sun damage, environmental pollutants AND 43 years of living whereas if I had started with the prevention part when my skin was amazing, I’d be in a much better place than I currently am.

If you’re new to skincare and/or think your skin is just fine, I highly recommend starting with something fairly basic – and here are two great recommendations for you.

The one product that I can tell makes an immediate and obvious impact on my skin is VItamin C .  It works by fighting free radicals and helping to prevent or undo damage from life.  Seriously.  I use a Vitamin C containing serum every day, and if I forget or try something else for a few days, it’s extremely obvious and I look haggard and tired.  Specifically, I notice that Vitamin C softens my fine lines and wrinkles, brightens my skin tone overall and helps to create a younger, more supple appearance.

The second ingredient that needs to be on everyone’s “must have” list is Hyaluroic Acid.  Hyaluronic acid helps retain moisture while strengthening your skins barrier, leading to an overall prettier face.

Beautiful U Skincare got smart and combined both ingredients into one very affordable ($15.50) serum that you can purchase here.  This light, gel-based formula comes in a pretty cobalt bottle with a pump dispenser to reduce waste.  It absorbs quickly and completely and can easily be worn under makeup.

Valentia Skincare,  a company that I’ve raved about before, has taken serum to a new level with their Clear Lift Revitalizing Serum available here.  While it’s a little more expensive at $35.00, it’s a rich and creamy serum that absorbs easily and completely while leaving skin feeling nourished and refreshed.  I’m not exactly sure what this blend of botanicals and essential oils contains, but it definitely improves circulation and makes my skin feel great.  I’m of the opinion that the cream-based formula absorbs more deeply and completely, but that’s just me – not fact.

I tried Derma Rolling last night for the first time, and this serum was incredibly soothing and rewarding after that little experience.  I’ll post more about the Derma Rolling soon, but today my hands are hurting quite a lot from arthritis, so I’ll have to wait for another day for that post – suffice it to say it was: interesting.

Speaking of bad hands, I drop my phone thousands of times a day due to my gnarly little paws.  I need a phone case that is protective first, and pretty second.  Imagine my happiness when I received this pretty little bargain rose gold case!  At under $13.00, it has managed to keep my phone safe despite all the times it’s been on the ground!

Please note: all of the products reviewed in this post were received at no cost in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.

Happy Easter, lovelies!  I hope that your weekend is full of sunshine, candy and lots of smiles!
